Most graphic programmes start with screen printing: it carries bold spot-colour artwork at the lowest unit cost and holds its colour through repeated washing. Water-based inks give a softer hand feel on light bases, while discharge printing removes the dye from dark fabric so the design sits in the cloth with almost no feel at all.
Detailed or photographic artwork points the other way. DTG prints full-colour art directly onto the garment and suits smaller runs with many colours, while DTF transfers handle mixed orders across several base colours. Puff and high-density inks add a raised, tactile finish that retail graphic ranges use for logos and headline graphics, and every effect is wash-tested on the production base before it is approved.
How Print Quality Is Held from Strike-Off to Bulk
A strike-off is only useful if bulk matches it. Your approved print is kept as the physical standard, screens are checked for registration before the run, and print position is measured against the size-by-size placement chart at the start of every batch and at intervals through it.
Curing is checked as carefully as colour, because an under-cured print looks right on the table and cracks in the wash. Finished garments are pulled at random for rub and wash checks, and any batch that drifts from the approved standard is stopped and reprinted rather than passed.
